Welcome to Proteomics Facility

A proteome is a collection of proteins of an organism’s tissue at a particular time and under a set of conditions. Proteomics is a comprehensive analysis of proteins in different cell types under various physiological and pathological states that relate to various cellular functions and phenotypes. In the human body, the dynamic changes of these proteins occur due to environmental factors, life style, genetic constitution and disease conditions. The profiling and understanding of these changes and differences in protein expression in various clinical phenotypes constitutes clinical proteomics. This platform of research offers scope to unravel qualitative and quantitative protein signatures which are unique to certain clinical phenotypes. Experiments in the field clinical proteomics result in protein biomarker discovery, drug target identification, and understanding the temporal and spatial protein expression with human biological functions.
